<W Korea> 요즘 리노 씨의 시간은 어떤 분위기로 흐르고 있나요?
리노 평화로워 보이지만, 그 안에서 계 속 바쁘게 살아가려 해요. 너무 여유로우면 찜찜한 느낌이 들어서요.

리노를 표현하는 단어 세 개를 꼽아주시겠어요?
재밌다, 단순하다, 은근 조용하다.

리노 씨는 타인에게 딱히 관심을 갖지 않고 무심해 보이지만 사실 정이 있고, 특히 고양이들에게는 지극한 관심과 애정을 보인다고 들었어요. 그리고 고양이 발바닥 냄새를 좋아한다고 말한 적이 있죠. 고양이 발바닥 냄새는 어떤 냄새인데요?
‘꼬소한’ 냄새인데, 뭔가 중독성 있는 그런 냄새입니다. 강렬하지 않고 은은하게 자꾸 손이 가는 느낌이에요.

고양이들을 대하는 것만큼 부모님에게도 살갑거나 애교를 부리는 아들인가요?
아니요, 가족한테는 생각보다 애교를 잘 못 부리는 편입니다. 그냥 무뚝뚝한 아들 이미지인 것 같아요.

스트레스를 크게 받지 않고, 감정 기복도 그리 크지 않고, 골치 아픈 생각에 골몰하기보다는 단순하게 생각하려는 성격이라면서요. 혹시 물려받은 면인가요, 환경적인 영향이 있었을까요?
예전에는 제가 걱정도 많고 생각도 많은 편이라 그런 점에 스트레스 받을 때가 잦았거든요. 성장하면서 스스로 절제하게 됐어요.

감정 기복이 그리 크지 않은 리노 씨가 화가 날 때는 어떤 경우일까요?
저는 누군가 부당한 일을 당할 때 화가 나는 편인 듯해요.

취미 이야길 해보죠. 연극 보는 걸 좋아한다니 반갑습니다. 요즘에 일반적으로 연극을 언급하는 경우는 많지 않은 것 같아서요.
대학교 과제 때문에 연극을 본 적이 있는데, 그때 영화나 뮤지컬과는 또 다른, 색다른 느낌을 받아서 한동안 빠져들었어요. 아쉽게도 요즘엔 보러 갈 시간이 많지 않네요. 예전에 <옥탑방 고양이>를 연극으로 재밌게 봤습니다.

‘요리왕 리노’가 요리에 집중하는 모습의 영상을 인상적으로 봤습니다. 비프 웰링턴을 만들거나 회 뜨기며 문어 손질하는 모습까지, 범상치 않았어요. 요리의 어떤 점이 리노와 잘 맞는 걸까요?
저는 맛있는 음식을 참 좋아해서 관련 영상도 많이 찾아보는 편이거든요. 그런 것들을 보다 보면 먹어보고 싶지만 어디서 파는지 모를 음식이 많아서, 제가 직접 만들어 먹어야겠다는 생각으로 요리를 하게 됐어요. 요리할 때는 딱 거기에만 집중할 수 있다는 점도 좋더라고요. 다 만들고 나면 뿌듯하기도 하고, 먹으면서 기분도 좋아지고요.

보여지는 몸 만들기보다 내실 다지는 운동에도 꾸준히 진심이라고, 매니저님이 귀띔해줬어요. 운동할 때 특히 뭘 신경 쓰면서 하세요?
자극 위주로 신경 쓰면서 운동하는 편이에요. 그렇게 신체 능력을 키우고 몸이 건강해지는 걸 느끼는 매력으로 계속 운동하게 돼요.

<도시어부 3>에 출연해서 56cm짜리 묵직한 물고기를 잡은 적 있죠? 리노 씨에게 낚시의 매력은 뭐예요?
제가 자연을 좋아하는 편이라, 아무래도 높은 건물이나 좁은 방 같은 꽉 막힌 곳에서 벗어나 자연을 만끽할 수 있다는 점이 좋았어요. 낚시 자체만으로도 좋지만 거기서 먹는 음식 같은 것도 낭만적으로 느껴지고요.

올 초 스트레이 키즈의 유튜브 채널 콘텐츠 중 ‘투키즈 쇼’ 에서 이런 언급을 살짝 했더라고요. ‘혼자 음악 작업을 하게 되면, 과거에 있던 느낌을 가져오고 싶은 마음은 있다’ 라고. 음, 어떤 느낌에 끌리는데요?
어릴 때 느낀 몽글몽글한 그런 감성을 생각했어요.

스트레이 키즈 안무의 핵이 바로 리노입니다. 리노 씨가 생각하는 ‘춤을 잘 춘다’는 것, 또 좋아하는 춤에 대해 말해주시겠어요?
사람마다 다 매력이 다르듯이 춤에도 각자의 매력이 있어요. 자기 몸을 잘 사용할 줄 알고, 자기만의 매력을 담을 수 있는 사람이 잘 추는 것 같아요. 그리고 저는 힙한 느낌의 춤을 좋아하는 편입니다!

나의 컨디션, 음향, 관객의 반응, 멤버들과의 합 등등 모든 우주의 기운이 잘 맞아떨어져서 탁월한 집중력으로 무대를 소화한 경험이 혹시 있을까요?
그 모든 것이 맞아떨어지기가 쉽지는 않아요. 그래서 공연이 끝나고 나면 아쉬운 마음이 들거나 깔끔하지 못한 기분이 들 때가 꽤 있는데요. 그런 감정이 하나도 느껴지지 않을 때, ‘내가 정말 무 아지경에 빠져 공연하고 왔구나’ 싶어요!

5월 10일, 영어 싱글 ‘Lose My Breath’가 공개됩니다. 찰리 푸스와 작업한 음악을 계기로 스트레이 키즈가 얼마나 도약하길 기대하세요?
얼마나 도약할지는 모르겠지만, 확실한 건 지금까지 스트레이 키즈의 음악이나 퍼포먼스 스타일과는 다른 색다른 모습을 보여드릴 거라는 점이에요. 재밌을 것 같아요.

얼마 전인 3월에 스트레이 키즈 데뷔 6주년을 맞았습니다. 한 그룹이 오래 지속하기 위해 가장 중요하고 필요한 건 뭐라고 생각하세요?
멤버들과의 신뢰 아닐까요? 하나로 똘똘 뭉쳐야죠!

음악과 춤과 팬을 제외하고, 삶에서 중요하게 여기는 가치들은 뭔가요?
저는 제 자신의 행복을 중요하게 여겨요. 일상에서도 소소한 행복을 찾으려고 노력합니다.

W Korea> : Lee Know, how are you doing these days?
Lee Know : My recent days seem peaceful, but I try to stay busy inside. I feel awkward when I get relaxed too much.

Could you pick three words that describe yourself?
Funny, simple, and quieter than expected.

I heard that you may seem indifferent and uninterested in others but you are actually an affectionate person with interest and love for cats. You also mentioned that you love the smell of cat paws. How do they smell?
Cat paws smell “nutty” and they are somehow addictive. The smell is subtle and isn’t that strong, but I keep smelling it.

Do you express love and care towards your parents just like you do with cats?
No, I don’t express that much to my family. I think of myself as a rather silent and blunt son.

I heard that you don’t get stressed that much with less mood swings. I also heard that you try to think simply instead of getting caught up in thoughts. Is it something genetic or environmental?
I used to get stressed a lot because I was often worried with too many thoughts. I learned to control them as I grew up.

You mentioned you have less mood swing. Then, what makes you angry?
I get angry when someone is treated unfairly.

Let’s talk about your hobbies. Your hobby is watching plays, and it’s glad to hear that because people don’t mention plays that much these days.
I watched a play for my college assignment, and I fell in love with it because it was different from films and musicals. Sadly, I don’t have much time to watch plays these days. I used to enjoy watching <Rooftop Cat>.

It was impressing to see you focus on cooking as a cooking master in clips. For example, you made beef wellington, filleted raw fish, and prepared octopus. How did you fall in love with cooking?
I love eating delicious food, and I often find clips about food. When I watch those clips, I often want to try the dishes but don’t know where can I find them. So, I started cooking to make those dishes myself. I love cooking because I can immerse myself into cooking. Cooking is rewarding, and I feel happy as I eat dishes I made.

Your manager told me that you work out to make body healthier rather than getting in shape. What do you focus on as you work out?
I work out while focusing on muscle stimulation. I keep working out because it improves my physical ability and makes my body feel healthier.

You caught 50cm-long fish in <Fisherman Season 3>. What are the reasons why you like fishing?
I love being in the nature, and I love fishing because I can enjoy the nature and escape from high-rise buildings, small rooms, and suffocating places. Fishing itself is fun, and I also like the food I can get while fishing.

In Stray Kids YouTube channel contents, 2 Kids Show, you mentioned that you want to bring up the past feelings when you were to work on music alone. Could you explain those feelings?
I was thinking about the nostalgic feelings of my childhood.

You are the key player in choreography of Stray Kids. Could you explain what it means to “dance well,” and what kind of dance do you like?
We all have different appeal points, and each dance has their own appeal point. Good dancers know how to use their body and knows how to express their appeal points. I also like dances with hip and groovy vibes.

Have you ever experienced a moment you totally immersed into the stage because everything, including your condition, sound, response of audience, and chemistry with members, was in perfect harmony with energy from the cosmos?
Actually, it’s hard for everything to be in perfect harmony. So, I often feel somehow disappointed or feel rather mixed after finishing the stage. Whenever I don’t get these emotions, I know that I totally immersed into the stage.

Your English single album, “Lose My Breath” will be released on May 10. How much do you expect Stray Kids to leap forward with the new song made with Charlie Puth?
I don’t know how much further we will leap forward. Still, I am confident that the music and performance styles will be different from the previous music of Stray Kids. I can’t wait to release it.

Stray Kids celebrated their 6th anniversary in March. What do you think is the most important and necessary thing for a group to last longer?
I’d say trust among members. We have to be stay united together.

What values do you consider important in life beside music, dance, and fans?.
I think my own happiness is important, and I try to find little happiness in everyday life.
