<W Korea> 요즘 어떤 날들을 보내고 있죠? 찰리 푸스와 곡 작업하던 기억이 생생하게 남아 있나 모르겠네요.
창빈 ‘Lose My Breath’를 만들 때도 쓰리라차의 작업은 평소와 다름없이 진행했어요. 찰리 푸스와의 조합도 훌륭했다고 생각하고요. 요새는 바쁘면서도 앞으로에 대해 생각이 많아지는 시기인 것 같아요.

스트레이 키즈의 유튜브 콘텐츠 중 멤버들이 서로 유닛을 이뤄 토크하는 ‘투키즈 쇼’를 인상적으로 봤어요. 저는 창빈 씨에게서 MC와 인터뷰어의 자질을 봤습니다. 혹시 누군가를 인터뷰할 기회가 주어진다면 누굴 하고 싶으세요?
저는 데이식스의 Young K 형을 인터뷰해보고 싶어요. 어떻게 그렇게 다 잘할 수 있는지.

창빈 씨에게는 말로 하는 개그 DNA도 있는 것 같던데요? 어떤 유의 개그를 좋아하나요?
말하자면 ‘츤데레’ 같은 유머를 좋아해요. 웃기려고 노력하지 않는데 은은하게 웃기는 그런 느낌.

스트레이 키즈에서 창빈 씨의 언변과 개그 스타일이 제일 잘 통하는 멤버는 누굴까요?
현진이가 리액션이 제일 크고 좋은 편입니다.

운동하는 게 인생의 큰 낙인 창빈 씨가 운동에서 특히 중요하게 여기는 점은 뭔가요?
안 다치고 꾸준히 하는 게 가장 중요하다고 생각해요.

올 초 ‘투키즈 쇼’ 콘텐츠에서, ‘너무 많은 걸 쏟아내다 보니 요즘은 딱 즐길 뭔가가 생기지 않으면 애초에 시작을 잘 안 한다’라고 언급하셨더라고요. 이 얘기를 좀 더 구체적으로 들어보고 싶어요.
사람마다 번아웃이 각기 다른 방식으로 오잖아요. 저에게도 일종의 번아웃이 왔다는 의미에서 말한 것으로 기억해요. 그런데 저는 그런 시기가 아주 짧게 왔다 지나가는 편이에요. 그래서 번아웃도 비교적 쉽게 극복하고 다시금 새로운 걸 향해 앞으로 나아가곤 해요.

현진 씨에게 ‘작업할 게 없으면 굳이 작업실 가지 마라’고 조언했다는 걸 듣고, 효율적으로 작업하는 똘똘한 모습을 연상했어요. 작업실에 나가 뒹굴거리기라도 하면 무언가 떠오를 수 있을 것만 같은데, 사실 그렇지 않을 때가 많잖아요.
저는 평소에 떠오르는 걸 메모장에 적어놨다가 음악적으로 좋은 아이디어가 떠오르면 접목시키면서 작업을 해요. 그냥 평소에 작업이 일상이라고 생각하면서 가벼운 거 하나도 가볍게 지나가지 않고, 창작하는 데 있어 하나의 소스가 되지 않을까 되짚어보곤 합니다.

스트레이 키즈의 큰 자부심은 어디에서부터 나올까요?
우리의 독보적인 색깔과 팀워크요.

서창빈이라는 사람 개인의 큰 자부심은요?
주변 사람들에게 긍정적인 영향을 주려고 노력한다는 점? 그만큼 건강한 마음가짐과 생각을 가지고 사는 편이에요.

어떤 경우에 유독 파이팅과 괴력이 발휘되는 편인가요? 그리고 마냥 강한 인간처럼 보이는 창빈 씨가 좌절하거나 크게 실망하는 경우도 있을까요?
하나하나 목표를 이루면서 성취감을 느낄 때, 더 파이팅하게 되는 듯해요. 제가 좌절한 기억은 딱히 떠오르지 않네요. 그럴 만한 상황이 와도 그냥 과정이라고 생각하고 넘어가는 편이거든요. 그런데 나의 건강, 혹은 주변 사람의 건강에 문제가 생긴다면 마음이 힘들 것 같아요.

한 그룹이 오래 지속하기 위해 가장 중요하고 필요한 건 뭘까요?
팀워크, 그리고 각자의 위치에서 노력하는 것.

현실적인 여건과 상관없이 언젠가 정말 해보고 싶은 작업이나 상상하는 꿈의 무대가 있나요?
EDM 페스티벌 같은 엄청난 규모의 페스티벌에서, 스트레이 키즈의 음악에 수많은 사람들이 미치며 노는 그런 모습을 떠올려봅니다.

야망 있는 사람인가요? 지금 시점의 창빈 씨 마음속엔 어떤 야망이 있는지 궁금합니다.
저, 야망가죠(웃음). 그냥 지금의 생활을 꾸준히, 오래오래 하면서 차근차근 더 성장하고 싶어요. 지금 사는 모습도 제가 어릴 때, 연습생일 때는 큰 꿈이었거든요.

<K Korea> How are you doing these days? Do you still vividly remember the time you worked with Charlie Puth?
Changbin Our work process was the same as usual when we worked on “Lose My Breath.” I also think 3RACHA and Charlie Puth had a perfect chemistry. I have been busy lately, and I often think about our future, too.

Among Stray Kids YouTube contents, 2 Kids Show was impressing as members interviewed each other units. I thought you are very talented as a host and an interviewer. If you had a chance to interview someone, who would you interview?
I want to have an interview with Young K from DAY6. I want to ask how he can be talented at everything.

You are also talented as a comedian with funny talks. What kind of comedy do you like?
I love so-called “tsundere” comedy. For example, you don’t try to be funny but others laugh at you.

Among Stray Kids members, who laughs the most for your sense of humor?
Hyunjin always reacts the most.

Working out is a huge part of your life. What do you prioritize when it comes to work out?
I think the most important thing is to work out steadily without injury.

In “2 Kids Show” clip posted earlier this year, you mentioned that you devoted too much and that you don’t start from the beginning when you have nothing to enjoy. Could you explain more about that?
People experience burnout in a different way. I mentioned that because I also went through a burnout. However, burnout don’t persist that long for me. So, I overcome burnout relatively easily and proceed to new goals again.

You advised Hyunjin not to go to the music studio when he has nothing to work on. This shows that you might be a type of person who try to work efficiently. Some say you have to go to music studio anyway to get a glimpse of idea, but that’s often not the case.
I usually take note of ideas that come to mind, and I combine with them with good music ideas that struck me. Composing music is part of my daily life. I try not to miss even the small ideas and review them because they can become a source of creation.

Where does a huge pride of Stray Kids come from?
Our unique color and teamwork.

Then, where does your pride come from?
My pride comes from my effort to have a positive impact on people around me. I try to live with healthy mindset and thoughts.

What makes you feel motivated and feel stronger? You always look strong but do you ever feel disappointed or discouraged?
I get motivated when I accomplish my goals one by one and get a sense of achievement. I don’t have a special memory of frustration. Even if the situation seems frustrating, I just look move on and think of it as a part of process. I would be discouraged when health issues occur to me or to people around me

What do you think is the most important and necessary thing for a group to last longer?
Teamwork and individual effort in own position.

Do you have a dream work or dream stage that you’d love to try someday, regardless of its feasibility?
I imagine about people going wild along our music at a huge festival, such as EDM festival.

Are you an ambitious person? What ambition do you have in your mind right now?
I am an ambitious person (laughs). I hope to grow further by keep doing what we are doing right now steadily for a long time. Who I am right now was a big dream for me when I was young and a trainee.
