<W Korea> 요즘 컨디션은 어때요?
필릭스 마음 상태는 편해요. 아티스트로서 더 열심히 하려고 노력하고 있습니다.

얼마 전 파리에서 열린 루이 비통 2024 F/W 쇼에 모델로 섰죠! 루이 비통 유튜브 채널로 그 스토리를 담은 영상을 봤어요. 그런데 모델로 서게 되었다는 소식을 처음 들었을 때에 대해 말하는 것 보면, 차분한 사람답게 아주 놀라진 않은 것 같더라고요.
놀라지 않은 것처럼 보였을 수도 있는데, 사실 너무 큰 소식을 듣고 놀라서 할 말을 잃었습니다. 그때 느낀 감정은 말로 표현할 수 없어요. 쇼 이후 모니터링도 열심히 했는데, 좋은 부분도 있고 살짝 아쉬운 부분도 있었어요. 니콜라 제스키에르의 루이 비통 합류 10주년 기념 런웨이에서 모델로 첫 데뷔를 해서 너무 영광이었어요. 진심으로 우리 스테이, 니콜라 형 그리고 루이 비통에 감사합니다.

처음으로 꽤 큰돈을 들여 패션 아이템을 쇼핑했을 때가 기억나세요?
루이 비통 가죽 재킷을 샀을 때요.

가지고 있는 패션 아이템 중에서 가장 오랫동안 간직하고 있는 아이템은 뭘까요?
아주 예전에 샀거나 받은 것인데 여전히 아끼는 것이요. 예전에 아버지께 선물로 받은 루이 비통 가방이요. 아직도 소중하게 갖고 있습니다.

필릭스가 생각하는 ‘비주얼적으로 멋진 사람’이란 어떤 특징을 가진 사람인가요?
눈빛과 목소리까지 멋있는 사람이 정말 멋지다고 생각합니다.

주변의 증언을 들어보면, 필릭스는 맑은 기운을 가진 사람이더군요. 사실 직접 겪어보지 않아도 화면을 뚫고 그 느낌이 전해질 때가 많죠. 스스로 생각하기에도 마음에 드는 자신의 기질이 있나요?
마음에 드는 기질은 ‘행복’을 잘 느낀다는 점이에요. 저는 주변에 있는 사람들에게 힐링과 긍정적인 에너지를 많이, 잘 전달하고 싶어요. 제 이름 필릭스의 뜻도 행복이라고 합니다.

‘어릴 적 호주에서 보낸 행복한 시간’이라고 하면 떠오르는 장면은 뭔가요?
딱 들었을 때 머릿속에 떠오른 순간요. 학교 다니던 시절이 생각나는데요. 아침 7시 10분에 지하철을 타서는 창문 바깥으로 해가 뜨는 걸 보면서 힘을 많이 얻었습니다. 학교 생활도 즐겁게 기억하고, 꿈을 꼭 이루고 싶어 했던 간절한 마음도 여전히 기억에 남아있어요. 이렇게 데뷔하고 아티스트로 활동할 수 있다는 건 행복한 일입니다.

필릭스를 말할 때 빼놓을 수 없는 것이 놀라울 정도로 딥한 그 ‘목소리’죠. 변성기를 겪기 전부터 목소리를 들었을 호주 가족들의 반응이 궁금하더라고요. 스트레이 키즈의 곡마다 필릭스가 그 결정적인 목소리로 등장할 때, 가족들도 놀랄 것만 같아요.
처음 변성기가 왔을 때 너무나 당황했고, 가족들도 신기해했어요. ‘열두 살인데 어떻게 벌써부터 목소리가 이 정도로 저음이 될 수 있나’ 생각한 것 같아요. 지금은 가족들도 ‘神메뉴’, ‘매니악’ 같은 노래에서 저음으로 노래하는 제 목소리를 좋아하고, 열심히 응원해줘요.

스트레이 키즈의 지난 6년 동안 그룹이 한 단계 레벨 업하게 된 계기는 언제 마련되었다고 생각하세요?
‘神메뉴’가 터닝포인트였다고 생각합니다. 우리의 음악과 색을 확실히 보여준 만큼 반응이 좋았던 것 같아요.

지금 생활에 온전히 적응하기 전, 나는 침착하게 나만의 속도가 있는 사람인데 환경이 휘몰아치는 것 같을 때가 있지 않았나요? 나를 둘러싼 모든 게 빠르게 돌아가고 아드레날린 넘쳐야 할 것 같은 느낌. 당신은 인기 있는 K팝 뮤지션의 라이프스타일 속에서 어떻게 중심을 잡으며 살려고 노력하나요?
누구나 자기만의 속도가 있는데, 연습생 때는 새로운 환경에 맞추려고 하다 보니 힘든 점도 있었어요. 하지만 잘 적응해서 이렇게 지금의 포지션까지 왔다고 생각합니다. 저는 스트레스 받을 때는 일단 하나에 100% 집중하는 편이에요. 일할 때 100% 최선을 다해 일하고, 밥 먹을 때 100% 맛있게 다 먹고. 잘 때는 또 100% 무조건 잠에 충실하려고, 폰을 들여다보지 않고 바로 자려는 식으로 노력합니다. 인생 밸런스를 찾는 저만의 루틴이에요.

마법처럼 한 가지 초능력을 선물로 받을 수 있다면 뭘 받고 싶어요?
모든 아픔과 병을 치유할 수 있는 능력을 받을 수 있다면 좋겠어요. 그럼 바로 병원에서 많은 사람을 치료하고 싶을 것 같아요.

지금 필릭스에게 작은 목표와 바람이 있다면요?
일단 정말 작은 목표를 말하자면, 게임을 좀 잘해보고 싶기도 해요. 아티스트로서는 연습을 더 많이 하고 싶다는 마음도
있습니다.

함성 속에서 격렬한 공연을 마치고 나면, 집에 돌아가 침대에 누워도 금방 잠들지 못할 것 같아요. 그런 날 필릭스
의 상태는 대체로 어떤 느낌인지 나눠주실래요?
큰 음악과 함성을 오래도록 듣고 나면, 귀에서 윙 하는 소리가 남는 느낌이에요. 잠들기 전에 계속 무대를 떠올리면 너무
기쁘고 만족스럽습니다. 아직 못 만난 우리 스테이를, 스타디움 콘서트에서 만나고 싶습니다.

<W Korea> What are you these days?
Felix I feel relaxed these days, and I am trying to work harder as an artist.

You recently became a model for Luis Vuitton 2024 F/W show in Paris! I watched your clip in Luis Vuitton’s YouTube channel. When you had an interview about hearing the news of becoming a model for the first time, it seemed like you weren’t that surprised. Is that because you are a calm person?
I might have looked indifferent, but I was so shocked and became speechless after hearing the news. I can’t express the feelings I had at that time. I monitored my walk after the show, and there were both good parts and a bit disappointing parts. It was a great honor to debut as a model on the runway which celebrated 10th anniversary of Nicolas Ghesquière with Louis Vuitton. I feel so thankful to STAY, Nicolas, and Louis Vuitton.

Do you remember the first time you spent a lot of money for fashion items?
It was when I bought a leather jacket of Louis Vuitton.

Among the fashion items you have, what is the item you have been keeping for the longest time? Is there an item you received and bought long ago but still cherish?
My dad gave me a Louis Vuitton bag years ago, and I still cherish that bag.

Could you describe the characteristics of someone who looks cool visually?
I think a person with cool eyes and voice look really cool.

Others often say that you are a person with a pure energy. Actually, I can often feel your pure energy even from the screen. What is the trait you like about yourself?
The trait I like about myself is that I feel” happy” a lot. I want to share healing and positive energy to people around me. My name, Felix, also means happiness.

When you think of “happy moments in Australia,” what moments pop into your head? Could you describe the moment?
I remember my school days. I took the subway at 7:10 in the morning, and I got encouraged by the sun rising out the window. I spent a great school life, and I still remember how desperate I was to achieve my dreams. I am such a blessed person to debut and work as an artist.

When talking about Felix, I cannot help but mention your astonishingly deep voice. Your family must have heard your voice even before your voice broke. I am sure your family must have been surprised to hear your remarkable voice in the songs of Stray Kids.
I was bewildered when my voice first broke and so was my family. We both thought my voice was too low for a twelve-year-old boy. Now, my family loves and supports my deep voices in songs like “Maniac” and “God’s Menu.”

When do you think was the turning point of leveling up as a group over the last 6 years?
I think “God’s Menu” was our turning point. The song was a hit because we clearly showed our own music and color.

You are a calm person who keeps your own pace. Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the rapidly changing environment before you got used to your life now? For example, everything surrounding changes so fast, and you need adrenalin rush for that. How do you keep your balance in a lifestyle as a popular K-pop musician?
We all live on our own pace. When I was a trainee, it was hard to adapt to the new environment. But I got used to it and became who I am right now. When I get stressed, I fully focus on one goal. For example, I devote myself while working, and I enjoy everything while eating. I also sleep right away without using my phone before sleep. These are my routines for life balance.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would like to have a superpower to heal all pain and illness. As soon as I get that superpower, I will go straight to hospitals to heal people.

Do you have a small goal or wish right now?
My small goal for now is to become better at games. As an artist, I also want to practice more.

As you return home after finishing stages, it must be hard to fall a sleep right away. What do you think before you fall asleep on such days?
After hearing loud music and cheers for a long time, they often ring in my ears. I feel happy and satisfied whenever I recall the stages before falling asleep. There are many fans that I haven’t met yet, I hope to meet them at a stadium concert someday.
